Riverbend Kids, birth to grade 5
Kids get their own room, two trained leaders they'll see again next week, and a story worth telling at lunch. You get a matching pickup tag and a text if they need you.
Pre-register my kids

How check-in works
Pre-register, if you like.
Add your kids' ages when you plan your visit, and their rooms will be ready. You can also do it all at the desk; it takes about three minutes.
Stop at the kids' desk.
It's by the stairs, just past the coffee. A volunteer prints a name sticker for each child and one pickup tag for you with the same four-digit code.
We walk you to the room.
You see the room, meet the two leaders and tell them anything they should know. Allergies print in red on the sticker.
Go and sit down.
If your child needs you during the service, we text the number you checked in with.
Pick up with your tag.
Come back to the same room. Show your tag, and the leader matches the code before your child leaves.
Five rooms, by age
Every room runs at 9 and 11. Grades 6 to 12 sit with you on Sundays and have Riverbend Students on Wednesdays at 6:30 PM.
| Room | Ages | Where | Ratio | What happens |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| The Shallows | Birth to 23 months | Room 102, ground floor | 1 adult to 3 babies | Rocking chairs, a quiet corner for feeding, and the same two volunteers most Sundays so faces get familiar. |
| Riffles | Ages 2 and 3 | Room 104, ground floor | 1 adult to 4 kids | Free play, a five-minute Bible story with puppets, songs with actions and a nut-free snack. |
| Eddies | Ages 4 and 5 | Room 106, ground floor | 1 adult to 6 kids | A story, a craft that goes home, and a lot of running around the big rug. |
| Rapids | Kindergarten to grade 2 | Room 201, upstairs | 1 adult to 8 kids | Games, a story from the Bible told well, and small circles with the same leader every week. |
| The Current | Grades 3 to 5 | Room 203, upstairs | 1 adult to 8 kids | Real questions, a weekly challenge, and the same small-group leader all year. |
What we do so you can relax
Carmen Vidal, our kids director, taught second grade for eleven years. She trains every volunteer herself and is at the kids' desk most Sundays.
- Background checks before anyone serves. Every kids volunteer passes a national criminal check and the Idaho sex offender registry, renewed every two years.
- Six months first. Nobody serves with kids until they have been part of Riverbend for at least six months and we know them.
- Two adults, always. Two unrelated, screened adults are in every room. No adult is ever alone with a child, including in the bathroom hallway.
- Trained every year. Abuse-prevention and first-aid training every August. A first-aid lead is on each floor every Sunday.
- Doors with windows. Every kids' room has a window in the door, and the kids' hallway closes to everyone without a volunteer badge.
- Your tag, or no pickup. Kids leave only with the adult holding the matching pickup tag. Lost the tag? We check your ID with the kids director.
- We text you, not the room. If your child needs you, we text the number you checked in with. You never have to wonder.
- Nut-free and allergy-aware. Snacks are goldfish crackers and apple slices. Allergies print in red on your child's sticker.
Photos and privacy
We never post a photo of your child unless you have said yes in writing, and you can change your mind at any time.
Kids don't fill in anything on this site or at the desk. We only collect a parent's name and number, and we use them only for check-in and pickup.

Rather keep them with you?
That's fine. Kids are welcome in the Main Room, there are activity bags at the welcome desk, and the back two rows on the right are for families who might need to step out.
See the whole Sunday
