Roasted Monday.
Here by Friday.
Small-batch coffee from Portland on a schedule you set. Every bag carries its roast date, its producer and what we paid for it.
Subscriptions from $15.30 a bag, ship free. Skip or cancel online.

Roast date, by hand
Roasted Mon, Oct 19
We roast on Monday and Thursday mornings and ship within 48 hours. The date on the bag is written the day it was roasted, never a best-by date.
If a bag reaches you more than seven days after that date, the next one is on us.

The farm, by name
Asociación Agrosur
Huila, Colombia
Every label names the producer, the region, the process and the harvest. The Daily is 60% washed Caturra and Castillo from Agrosur's members and 40% natural Yellow Catuaí from Fazenda Boa Vista in Sul de Minas, Brazil.

What we paid, printed
$4.90 a pound
That is what we paid Agrosur for this lot, free on board in Colombia. The Fairtrade minimum for washed arabica is $1.80. Every coffee we bought this year, its price and its weight is in the sourcing report.

Coffee in hand, four days off the roasterDay 5

Brew it like we do
22 g of medium-fine coffee, 352 g of water just off the boil, three minutes and a slow spiral pour. Our default for single origins.
18 g in, 36 g out, in 27 to 30 seconds. Fieldhouse Espresso and The Daily are roasted to forgive a home grinder.
30 g of coarse coffee to 450 g of water. Four minutes, break the crust, skim, then press slowly.
60 g for a full litre carafe, ground medium. Clean the basket once a week and it tastes twice as good.
100 g of extra-coarse coffee in 800 g of cold water, 15 hours in the fridge. Dilute one to one over ice.
15 g, 225 g of water at 90°C, two minutes, press for thirty seconds. Hard to get wrong.
We started Fieldhouse in a converted machine shop on SE 9th Avenue in 2019, with one 15-kilo roaster and a rule: write the roast date on every bag by hand, the morning it comes out of the drum.
The rule is still there. So is the roaster. What changed is that most of our coffee now goes out on subscription, so we roast to your schedule instead of guessing.
We buy from eleven producers, eight of them for three years or more. We do not call it direct trade, because that phrase means whatever the seller wants. We print what we paid instead, lot by lot.
If something is wrong with a bag, reply to any email from us. It comes to me.

Before you order
- Roasted Monday and Thursday, shipped within 48 hours
- Free shipping on every subscription
- Skip, pause or cancel online, no call
When is my coffee roasted?
On the Monday or Thursday before it ships. The date is on the bag, and your shipping email says it too.
Can I skip, pause or cancel?
Yes, online, in two taps, with no call and no form to mail. Pausing keeps your price for up to three months.
Whole bean or ground?
Whole bean keeps its flavor longer once the bag is open. If you have no grinder, pick your brewer and we grind it to match.
Where do you ship?
Anywhere in the 50 states, by USPS Priority, in two to three days. Subscriptions ship free. One-time orders ship free over $40, or $6 below that.
What if I don't like it?
Tell us within 30 days and we send a different coffee for free. You keep the first bag.
Is it organic or Fair Trade certified?
None of our coffees carry those seals this year, so we do not print them. We publish what we paid each producer instead.
