No heat or AC right now?
Call or text. A person answers 24 hours a day, every day of the year, and a tech gets to most Columbus homes the same day.

Updated every minute. In this concept the wait is modelled from the time of day; the real build reads the dispatch board.
Smell gas? Leave first, then call.
Don't flip switches or use the thermostat. Get everyone outside, then call Columbia Gas of Ohio at 1-800-344-4077 or 911 from the street.
If a carbon monoxide alarm is sounding, get everyone outside and call 911. Once the fire department clears the house, call us and we'll find the source.
Four checks while you wait
About one call in five is fixed by one of these. If one works, call back and we'll cancel the visit at no charge.

Thermostat
Set it to Heat (or Cool), two degrees past room temperature, and change the batteries if the screen is blank.

Breaker and switch
Look for a tripped breaker labeled furnace or AC, and the light-style switch on or near the furnace. Both should be on.

Filter
A filter you can't see light through can shut a furnace down. Swap it, wait five minutes, and try again.

Outdoor unit
If it's iced over, set the thermostat to Off and the fan to On for two hours before you call. That melts the coil so we can test it.
