How a shelf drive works

  1. Make your pagePick a school and a classroom, set a goal in books, and say why in a few lines.
  2. Share itSend the link to family, your team at work or your church. Every gift moves the shelf on your page.
  3. We buy the booksWhen you reach the goal, or on the day you choose, we order the books the teacher asked for.
  4. The class opens themYou get photos of the shelf, without children's faces, and every donor gets their own receipt.

Collecting real books?

We take new books only, so every child gets one that is truly theirs. Bring them to 1420 Trumbull Ave, Monday to Friday, 9 to 5.

  • Board books for Pre-K, picture books for K to 1, first chapter books for 2 to 3.
  • Books in Spanish, Arabic and Bengali are always short.
  • We give a receipt for books on request. You value them; we can't.
