The brick building on Union Street in Gowanus where the show is recorded

Pitch a conversation

We book people who built something and can tell us how it really went: the numbers, the mistakes, the week it nearly ended. Four questions, and a reply within 7 days.

Who we book

The recording room on Union Street, where most guests sit

Founders, makers and operators, mostly from companies under 200 people. A bakery is as welcome as a factory. What matters is a story only you can tell, and a willingness to say real numbers on the record.

We don't book press tours. If your launch is the story, it's probably too early. Nobody pays to be a guest, and a guest's company can't sponsor the show in the same quarter.

What happens after

  1. Within 7 days Desmond, our producer, replies yes, not now, or no, with a reason.
  2. A 20-minute pre-call You book it yourself. Mara asks where the story starts and what's off limits.
  3. Recording on a Tuesday At the long table on Union Street, or anywhere: we ship you the kit in the picture, and a prepaid box back.
  4. Published about three weeks later With chapters, a transcript checked by a person, and your links. You get the clips the same day.

You can flag a factual error within 48 hours of recording. We don't give copy approval.
