The Long Table
A website for a weekly interview podcast with a paid tier: every transcript searchable, bonus segments gated inside the transcript, and a media kit that prices a campaign.
What podcast hosts tell us
“Sponsors want proof I can't give.”
What this build moves: CPM achieved and sponsor renewal rate, with tracked codes, open dates and a 30-day report
“Hardly anyone pays for the bonus feed.”
What this build moves: free-to-paid conversion, toward the 4 to 5% benchmark, with gates placed where listeners are already reading
“Guest booking eats my week.”
What this build moves: hours per booked guest, with a 4-question pitch form and a self-booked pre-call
What this build has that a typical podcast site doesn't
- Full-text search across every transcript, showing the matching line and its timestamp
- A members' bonus gate inside the transcript, so search traffic meets the offer where it reads
- A transcript that highlights line by line as the player advances, with chapters you can jump to
- A private-feed explainer that covers Apple, Overcast, Pocket Casts and the Spotify gap
- A sponsor calendar of open pre-roll and mid-roll slots that feeds a CPM rate estimate
- Listener deals with tracked codes, each linked to the episode where it was read
- Plain auto-renewal terms: renewal reminder, two-click cancellation, refund window
- A guest pitch form that asks for the story and a link, and says when you'll hear back

Long conversations with people who build things.
Search every episode- A player-only archive became transcripts you can search, with the matching line and its timestamp.
- The bonus feed moved from a footer link to a gate inside the transcript, where people are already reading.
- Sponsors get open dates, a rate estimate and tracked codes instead of a PDF and a wait.
Built to respect
Every sponsor read is disclosed in the audio itself, not only in show notes (FTC Endorsement Guides), and labelled as a sponsor read in the transcript. Memberships follow California's auto-renewal law: price and renewal terms beside the button, a reminder before yearly renewals, online cancellation in two clicks. Apple's 30% and 15% subscription share is stated plainly. Nobody pays to be a guest, and listener emails never go to sponsors.
