Most families call us in October, worried. We answer with numbers: where your teen stands, what the gap takes, and the Saturday to start.

Twenty minutes, then a plan

Eight questions in the style of the digital SAT: four reading and writing, four math. The report gives a starting range, the package we'd pick, and every week from the first session back from a real 2026-27 test date.

Nothing is saved unless you book a consult, and the booking is for a parent to fill in.

What you can count on

Same night

A progress note after every session: what was covered, what clicked, one thing to try at home.

$0

For hours you don't use. Refunded at the package rate.

Priya Raman started Brightside in 2016, after six years of tutoring math through Seattle's grey afternoons. The families who did best weren't the ones with the most hours. They were the ones who could see the plan. So every family gets three things: a diagnostic with real numbers, a plan written backward from the test date, and a note after every session saying what was covered and what's next. We teach in a second-floor room on North 45th Street in Wallingford, and online for families across Washington. Tutors are hired on a scored subject test and a recorded teaching demo, and every one passes a fingerprint background check before meeting a student. We don't promise scores. We promise you'll always know where things stand. Book a 30-minute consult with Priya.

Every price, on the page

Questions parents ask

FormatOnline or in person?

Both. In person at our second-floor room on North 45th Street in Wallingford, or online on Zoom with a shared whiteboard. Most test-prep families mix the two: sessions online on weeknights, practice tests in person on Saturday mornings.

Which testSAT or ACT?

Take the diagnostic as SAT first. If the reading questions felt rushed but the math felt fine, the ACT's pace usually suits less well, and the SAT is the better bet. If your teen likes moving quickly and wants science in the mix, the ACT can fit. We'll say which we'd pick at the consult.

TimingWhen should we start?

Work backward from the test date: a 24-hour plan at two hours a week needs about 13 weeks. For the March 6 SAT that means starting in early December. The planner on the SAT and ACT page does the arithmetic for any date.

GuaranteesDo you guarantee a score?

No. A guarantee would be a promise about your teen's result, and no honest tutor can make it. What we do promise: a written plan, a progress note after every session, every practice-test score shared with you, and a refund of any hours you don't use.

ChangesWhat if we need to reschedule?

Move any session up to 24 hours ahead at no cost, as often as you need. Inside 24 hours the session counts, once per package we waive it. Unused package hours are refunded at the package rate.

PrivacyWhat do you keep about my child?

Diagnostic answers stay in your browser unless you book. Consult details are deleted after 12 months if you don't enroll; student records are deleted 24 months after the last session. We never sell data, and we share progress with a school only with your written permission. Parents fill in every form.
