The checkout rebook
The 30-second habit that keeps patients coming back: why the next appointment should be booked before they leave, what Zenoti's 2026 data shows, and a script for your front desk.

The easiest time to book a patient's next visit is while they're still at your front desk.
What the data shows
Zenoti's 2026 benchmark report for med spas found that among guests rebooked once, 37% of those appointments were cancelled. Guests rebooked two or more times cancelled just 4% of the time. Zenoti 2026 Beauty and Wellness Benchmark Report, Medspa Edition
The same report found new guest visits fell 11% in 2025 while existing guest visits fell only 2%. Zenoti 2026 Beauty and Wellness Benchmark Report, Medspa Edition When new patients get harder to win, the ones you already have matter more.
Why it gets skipped
- The front desk is busy checking out the next person.
- Staff feel pushy asking for another appointment.
- The booking system doesn't suggest a date, so nobody knows when to offer.
A script that doesn't feel pushy
It works because it's about the result, it offers two choices, and "you can always move it" takes away the pressure.
Back it up with a text
Some patients will say "let me check my calendar." For them, send a text the next morning with the same two times. Then, if they still haven't booked by the end of the suggested window, a friendly reminder with a reason to come in.
Track your rebooking rate at checkout every month. It's one of the clearest signs of whether patients will come back.
