Meridian Path Planning
A website for a fee-only planning firm that serves North Carolina teachers and nurses near retirement, with a readiness snapshot that books intro calls and every claim kept inside the SEC Marketing Rule.
What fee-only planners tell us
“Referrals dried up and I can't fill my calendar.”
What this build moves: qualified intro calls booked a month
“They ghost after the first meeting.”
What this build moves: intro-call-to-client rate, helped by a proposal sent within 24 hours
“I spend hours with people who aren't ready for a plan.”
What this build moves: share of calls that meet the fit rules, from 52% to 88% in the sample report
What this build has that a typical financial planning firm site doesn't
- The flat fee in dollars on the first screen of the homepage
- A readiness snapshot with its methodology, assumptions and 'hypothetical' label next to the result
- A 1% vs flat-fee calculator that counts the lost growth, and admits when 1% is cheaper
- A who-we-serve page built on the real TSERS formula and the 2026 403(b) limits
- A four-question intake that routes each booking to the right CFP® professional
- Meeting times set around the school day and 12-hour shifts
- Form CRS, Form ADV Part 2A and 2B and the IAPD link one click from every page
- Typical situations written as labelled composites, with no testimonials or outcomes

The retirement readiness snapshot
Six numbers in, a projection out: savings drawn against the range you'd need, the gap in dollars and what closes it, with the method and the 'hypothetical' label beside the result. Visitors close to retiring book a call from the result; the rest get the checklist, so the calendar fills with people who fit.
Retirement readiness snapshot
Six numbers. Nothing is saved or sent until you book.
Pension: TSERS or a hospital plan, the monthly amount from your latest statement.

Hypothetical, not a guarantee. How this is worked out
This is a simplified projection for education, not advice and not a promise. Results change every time you change an input, and they will change over time as the assumptions do. It does not look at specific investments, so it says nothing about any fund or portfolio; other assumptions could give better or worse results.
- All amounts in today's dollars, with inflation at 2.5% a year.
- Savings grow 4.0% a year above inflation until you retire, then 3.0% a year.
- You'll spend 80% of your current pay each year in retirement, before tax.
- Social Security for one earner, claimed at 67, estimated from your pay with the 2025 benefit formula (bend points $1,226 and $7,391). Your real figure is on your statement at ssa.gov.
- Pensions are held flat in dollars from your retirement date, so they buy 2.5% less each year. TSERS cost-of-living raises are not automatic.
- Taxes, Medicare premiums and one-off costs are left out. The band shows the savings that would last to age 90 (lower edge) and age 95 (upper edge).

Plans for teachers and nurses
Run the readiness snapshot- A 'Contact us' form became a readiness snapshot that shows each visitor their gap first.
- The fee moved from a PDF to the first screen of the homepage, in dollars.
- Bookings are routed by four questions, so a nurse with a 403(b) meets the planner who knows hospital plans.
- Testimonials and a 'trusted by' bar came out; Form CRS and the IAPD link went into every footer.
Built to respect
SEC Marketing Rule 206(4)-1: no testimonials, endorsements, ratings or performance; the snapshot meets the interactive-tool conditions (method, assumptions and limits shown, results vary with each use, outcomes labelled hypothetical). Form CRS sits one click from every page. 'Fee-only' is used only because the firm takes no commissions, per CFP Board rules, and CFP® always appears with its mark. Pages are built to be archived for the recordkeeping rule; a state-registered firm would follow the NC Securities Division's rules instead.
