Tallybird

A marketing site for an invoicing app for agencies, built around a live invoice that visitors type into before they sign up.

What SaaS founders tell us

“People sign up and never send an invoice.”

What this build moves: activation: the share of trials that send a first invoice within 7 days, and trial to paid

“We sound like every other accounting tool.”

What this build moves: visitor-to-trial conversion from the homepage

“They leave after tax season.”

What this build moves: 90-day logo churn, by showing the weekly 'who owes what' value before sign-up

What this build has that a typical SaaS site doesn't

  • A real invoice in the hero that visitors type into, with hours times rate, terms, due dates and fees that add up
  • A playback of what happens after send: viewed, reminder day 3, reminder day 7, paid and matched
  • A late-payment cost calculator that turns days late and hours chasing into a yearly dollar figure
  • Published prices with a monthly or yearly toggle and a 3-question plan recommender
  • A reminder email the visitor configures: voice, days, payment methods and signature
  • A paste-your-spreadsheet page that turns real rows into draft invoices on the spot
  • A security page that says what is in progress (SOC 2 window) instead of claiming 'bank-level security'
  • Trial terms in plain words: no card, nothing charged at day 14, cancel online in two clicks

The live invoice

Visitors type a client, hours and a rate, pick the terms, and watch the invoice get sent, viewed, reminded on day 3 and day 7, and paid. 'Save and send' carries their invoice into the trial, so the first thing they see after sign-up is their own.

Typical siteOur rebuild
Drag to compare. A typical invoicing software for agencies site vs our rebuild.
  • A generic 'all-in-one platform' hero became a live invoice visitors type into.
  • Pricing came out from behind 'Contact sales': three published plans and a 3-question fit check.
  • Trial emails fire on what each account did, starting with the first invoice, and the last one says plainly that nothing will be charged.

Built to respect

Trial terms follow ROSCA and California's auto-renewal law: no card, nothing charged at day 14, online cancellation in two clicks, a renewal notice 30 days before a yearly plan renews. Marketing email follows CAN-SPAM, with an unsubscribe and postal address; SMS asks for consent and honors STOP. No 'bank-level security' or SOC 2 claim before the report exists, no tax advice, late fees only where the client's contract allows, and no reviews, ratings or customer logos.
