Osteria Lume
A reservation-first website for an independent Italian osteria: its own booking with card holds, a menu people can filter on a phone, and a private dining builder that prices the night.
What restaurant owners tell us
“Saturday no-shows kill us. A table of eight doesn't show and that's $600 gone.”
What this build moves: Friday and Saturday no-show rate
“Tuesday and Wednesday are dead.”
What this build moves: weekday covers
“The apps take 30% of every takeout order.”
What this build moves: share of takeout ordered direct
What this build has that a typical restaurant site doesn't
- A reservation book on the site itself, with three seatings and the real open times
- A card-hold notice for six or more and Friday and Saturday peak tables, shown before anyone confirms
- An HTML menu with prices and filters for vegetarian, gluten-free, dairy-free and nuts, in place of a PDF
- A pasta board that changes with the day of the week
- A private dining builder that prices the night live, service charge and tax included
- Gift cards with a live preview and a no-expiry, no-fee policy in plain words
- Pasta kits ordered direct for pickup, so takeout skips the app commission
- Wine dinners set on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with their own calendar

The reservation book
Pick the guests and the night and see the real open times across three seatings. Tables of six or more and Friday and Saturday peak tables get a card-hold notice before anyone confirms, and the menu beside it filters for vegetarian, gluten-free, dairy-free and nuts.

Book a table- A PDF menu became an HTML menu with prices and filters for vegetarian, gluten-free, dairy-free and nuts.
- A link out to a booking app became a reservation book on the site, with a card hold for six or more and peak tables.
- One newsletter became a post-visit flow: same-day reminder, thank-you with a review link, chef's note, weekday invite, birthday and win-back.
- Private dining went from an email address to a builder that prices the night, service charge and tax included.
Built to respect
WCAG 2.2 AA, since restaurants drew a third of ADA web suits in early 2026: an HTML menu, labelled fields and a calendar that works by keyboard. SMS only with a separate, unticked opt-in and STOP to cancel (TCPA). The 20% service charge for six or more and private events is printed on the menu and inside every estimate. Gift cards never expire and carry no fees. Review requests go to every guest, with nothing offered in return.
